Why Our Field Rules Matter

To ensure a safe, clean and enjoyable experience for all visitors and four legged friends, we kindly ask everyone to follow our field rules. These guidelines help keep the field environment secure, protect the welfare of all dogs and owners, and maintain the high standards of our facilities. By respecting the rules, your helping to create a safe, stress- free space where dogs can enjoy off-leash freedom and adventure. Thank you for your cooperation! 

 

1. Booking Rules

  • Online Booking Only – All bookings must be made through our online booking system, 1 hour in advance of the booking.
  • Agreement to Terms – By making a booking, you confirm that you agree to our terms and conditions.
  • Booking Duration – Each session lasts 50 minutes, allowing a 10-minute gap before the next visitor.
  • Payment Requirements – All bookings must be paid in full at the time of booking.
  • Cancellations & Refunds – Please check our cancellation policy at the bottom of the page before booking, as refunds or reschedules may be subject to availability.
  • Right to Withdraw Access – We reserve the right to withdraw permission for any person to use the facility at our discretion, including but not limited to:
    • Adverse weather conditions that make the field unsafe.
    • Failure to comply with our conditions of use in previous visits.
    • Any other reason we deem necessary for the safety and well-being of visitors or the field. 
  • Depending on the reason for withdrawal, advance payments may be refunded; however, we accept no liability for any expenses or losses sustained by the customer as a result of the facility being withdrawn.

 

2. Arrival & Departure Rules

  • Booking Confirmation & Gate Code – Once your booking is confirmed, the gate code will be sent to your mobile phone via text 1 hour before the booking, to allow you access to the facility.
  • Arrive on Time – Please do not arrive too early or too late to avoid overlap with other customers.
  • Early Arrivals – If you arrive before your session, please wait to the left of the gate entrance until the previous customer has left.
  • Timely Departure – Ensure you leave promptly at the end of your 50-minute session so the next booking can start on time.
  • Secure the Gate – When entering and leaving the field, always close and lock the gate securely behind you.
  • Parking Rules – Park only in the designated parking area and do not park on the grass.
  • Respect Our Neighbours – Please keep noise to a minimum and do not block driveways or access routes.
  • Unexpected Visitors –
    • If anyone enters the field while you are using it, please contact us immediately.
    • If previous users overstay their booking time, please contact us so we can address the issue.

 

3. Dog Eligibility & Safety Rules

  • All Breeds Welcome – We welcome dogs of all breeds and sizes, provided they are well-behaved and under control.
  • Exempted Breeds (Ex-Bully Breeds & Others) –
  • Dogs listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act (including ex-bully breeds) are welcome only with proper documentation, which may be request on arrival.
  • Owners must provide a Certificate of Exemption and proof of valid third-party liability insurance prior to booking, which may be request on arrival.
  • These dogs must be muzzled and remain under control at all times.
  • No Aggressive Dogs – If your dog shows signs of aggression toward people or other dogs, please ensure you book solo use only.
  • Puppies & Unvaccinated Dogs – Puppies and dogs must have had their full vaccinations before using the field.
  • No Sick Dogs – If your dog is unwell or showing signs of illness (e.g., vomiting, diarrhea, kennel cough), please do not bring them to the field.
  • Dogs Must Not Be Left Unattended – You must remain with your dog at all times while using the facility.

 

4. Use of the Field

  • Pick Up After Your Dog – If your dog poops, please clean it up immediately and dispose of it in the provided waste bins.
  • Respect the Facilities –
    • Do not allow dogs to climb on fences or attempt to escape.
    • No digging—if your dog starts to dig, please stop them immediately.
    • Use of Agility Equipment – Any agility equipment provided is for dogs only. Adults and children must not climb on or use the equipment.
  • Personal Items & Toys –
    • If you bring personal dog toys or training aids, please ensure you take them with you when leaving.
    • Be particularly mindful to remove any broken toys or balls to keep the field safe for other visitors.
  • No Tethering of Dogs – At no time should any dog be tethered to any structures, fence posts, gates, or other on-site equipment.
  • Leave the Field as You Found It – Please take all belongings with you and leave the space clean and tidy for the next visitor.
  • No Smoking or Vaping – Smoking, vaping, or the use of any open flames is strictly prohibited anywhere on-site.
  • Dispose of Litter Properly – Please use the provided bins to dispose of any waste, including wrappers, bottles, or other rubbish.
  • Use the Field at Your Own Risk –
    • We do not accept any responsibility for injuries, accidents, or damage to persons, property, or animals while using the facility.
    • Owners are fully responsible for their own dogs and any damages they may cause.

 

5. Field Security & Natural Environment Advisory

  • The field is enclosed by a high security fence with a return on the ground to help prevent dogs from escaping. However, if your dog is able to jump high fences or is likely to dig under fencing, please be aware that the field may not be totally secure.
  • We cannot accept responsibility for any dog escapes—it is your responsibility to ensure your dog remains safely within the field.
  • The field is part of a natural environment, and while we regularly maintain the area, it may contain natural hazards, including but not limited to:
    • Sticks, branches, stones, small holes, uneven ground, nettles, and other natural debris.
  • Weather conditions may impact field conditions, making areas muddy, slippery, or uneven.
  • We accept no liability for any injuries caused by natural conditions within the field.

 

6. Cancelation Policy

We understand that plans can change. This Cancellation Policy outlines the terms for cancelling or rescheduling bookings at Dog Field at Dunston Heath.

A. Cancelling or Rescheduling Your Booking

  • Cancellations made more than 24 hours before your booking time
  • You may cancel or reschedule your session free of charge. A full refund will be issued for cancellations.
  • Cancellations made less than 24 hours before your booking time
  • Unfortunately, we are unable to offer a refund for late cancellations. However, please contact us as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to help where we can.
  • Missed Bookings; If you miss your session without prior notice, no refund or rescheduling is available.
  • We will also try to endeavor to get respond to any emails etc. as quickly as possible. 

B. How to cancel or reschedule 

  • To cancel or reschedule your booking, please contact us directly. 
  • Please include your booking reference or time and name when getting in touch.

C. Cancellations Due to Weather

  • Our field is open in most weather conditions. However, if we need to close due to extreme weather or unsafe conditions, we will contact you as soon as possible and offer a reschedule or full refund.

D. Our Right to Cancel

  • In rare cases, we may need to cancel your booking (e.g., for maintenance or safety reasons). If this happens, you will be notified immediately and offered a reschedule or full refund.

E. Refund Processing

  • Approved refunds will be processed using your original method of payment and may take up to 5–10 working days to appear, depending on your bank or provider.
